Forgive our little squabbles.
Forgive all the ways we push and shove to look better.
We’re not sold on you justifying us.
We’re still a bit addicted to showing off – to proving we’ve got what it takes.
But we don’t.
We don’t have your holiness or constant kindness.
We don’t believe you are a justifying God.
Instead, we believe we’re a justifying people.
We’re trying to right all our wrongs.
You tell us you’ve made them right.
We’re trying to make sure others know we’re in the right.
You tell us you’re opinion matters more than all of men.
Justifying God, let us rest.
Let us know you make us right as we admit we’ve got it wrong.
