Small and Serious

Those times when you are wondering, doubting and unsure-I want you to lift your voice. It doesn’t have to be a loud cry or a perfect paragraph. I just want to talk with you and for you to trust me with your questions. That’s what friends do isn’t it? They trust each other with questions. The best of friends ask for advice on everything and anything-small and serious. There is not an “off limit” question between a brother or sister. So why do you keep so much from me? Why do you not trust me with the small and the serious? Is it because you are scared, or fearful? Fear not, little one, for I made you and bought you. I formed you and called you by name. You were made to be in relationship with me. I’m the giver and you are the joyful receivers. You can’t give me anything I don’t already have so stop acting like this is a transaction. I love you and that defines our relationship.

You were bought with a steep price but I have never once regretted purchasing you.

So talk to me. Tell me the small and serious and everything in between.

Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Psalm 27:7
