Swing the Sword

A sword is meant for swinging,

a soldier does not adore his sheath.

Nay, the edges are sharp with purpose,

they cut with ease and speed.

Is the Word stuck in your sheath?

Do we like our role as soldier?

How often do we pray for a shield?

Christ has risen, and it is finished.

Yes. Alleluia. Praise the King.

Yet, our enemy is still hungry,

and our sin wants our heart.

But take courage my dear Christian,

He does not leave us or ever says depart.

Instead we have His spirit,

the gift that comes from Grace.

Simply pray for His armor,

and stop starring at the sheath.

Trust a sharp sword to follow.

His spirit will sanctify.

For those He called He will keep.

The Father loves every single sheep.
